Born on January 1, 1965 in Santiago de Chile
Ms. Sapag is strongly committed to international peace and security and the rights of the child. She shares with her partner Roberto a love of sports and the outdoors. Practices endurance running and ballet.
EDUCATION
Obtained her primary and high school education from Woodridge School (London), the British Council School (Madrid) and The Grange School (Santiago). Ms. Sapag completed her music studies at the Escuela Moderna de Musica with maestro Octavio Hasbun and later with the clarinetist Leonardo Acuña.

Lawyer from Universidad de Chile, admitted to the Bar
Before joining the Foreign Service, she worked in legal private practice and later served as a pro bono Public Defender (Appeals Court of Santiago).

Completed the Young Leaders Program (JICA) in Japan (1995).

Political Coordinator in the Security Council during Chile's fifth membership. Ms. Sapag was also an elected member of UNIFEM Consultative Committee.

She has been a professor of administrative law and assistant professor in International Economic Relations at the Diplomatic Academy and panelist in a variety of institutions such as the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and IDEA.
Delegate in numerous international meetings, she has co-facilitated and/or negotiated multilateral instruments such as the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and resolutions at the UN Security Council, Sanctions Committees, General Assembly, ECOSOC and funds and programmes.
Co-author of "Chile, an actor in the multilateral system: a national tradition" and author of "The Confidence Building Measures in the Argentine - Chilean Standing Committee on Security: Its Contribution to Hemispheric Cooperative Security".
